A Thermally Improved 1970’s Colt Extension
With the onset of winter and spiralling fuel costs, we were commissioned to thermally upgrade this late 1970’s Colt extension, together with four new argon gas filled A rated white uPVC factory fitted frames in our unique softwood treated sub-frames.
The window replacement took two days followed by the removal of the decayed cedar shingles and the original fibre insulation board for later refitting. The cutting and fitting of the Celotex insulation into the open wall void then followed, together with the fibreboard and an additional layer of Celotex. This was then covered with Tyvek breathable membrane and battens, finished with best quality vertical Western Red cedar TGV boarding.
Our local approved building control inspector oversaw the project with only two site visits required.
Work was completed in just seven days!
