We bought our 1968 vintage Colt Bungalow in late 2013, not knowing much about this type of building. After a quick search on the internet, we were pleased to find that WH Colt & Son were still in business. We contacted them to ask for information and advice on our new home, particularly the possibility of having replacement windows,as the bungalow still had the original ‘Crittal’ windows fitted.

Martin was incredibly helpful and took time to answer all our questions in detail. We were amazed to discover that the original plans for our bungalow were archived at Colt, and because of this a quote for replacement windows would not involve a site visit as the new windows could be priced directly from the original plans.

We were happy with the quote and the work was carried out eight weeks later. This involved the Colt team travelling to Wales and staying in a local holiday cottage for the duration of the work. As the work progressed, it became very clear that we had made the right choice in choosing Colt to fit our new windows. The team consisted of three highly skilled and experienced carpenters who have been with the company for many years and know Colt buildings ‘inside out’. Any problems that were found during the installation (such as rot in one of the bay windows) were dealt with in an expert and professional manner. It was clear that the team were passionate about Colt buildings and went out of their way to explain everything to us.

We were thrilled with the results, particularly the way the new windows kept the ‘look’ of the original windows which is important to us given the unique character of Colt buildings. I would recommend Martin and his team as they are professional, helpful and really nice people to do business with. We love our Colt bungalow!
