We moved to our 5 bed Colt bungalow five years ago.  It is a great house made even better recently by Martin and his team from Colt.  The house had generally been well maintained by the previous owners who had lived in it from new.  The cedar cladding had been regularly oiled, but apparently never cleaned.  Martin and colleagues did a splendid job of pressure washing the whole building.  The difference was astonishing!  They then returned a week later to re-apply the oil.   We had re-oiling done when we moved in, but not cleaning.  The difference in the job done by Martin and crew was remarkable.  No mess!  Drive left pristine.  Windows and guttering all left spotless.  Not only that, they were lovely people to have around.

Anyone thinking of renovating their Colt house should consider using Martin and his professionals from Colt.  You won’t regret it.

We have now used Martin and his team on 3 separate occasions and have been delighted each time.  The first time was prior to buying our Colt house when Martin did a very thorough survey of the property and was able to recommend how best to proceed with maintaining the house, including realistic pricing and timescales.  Martin’s input was always pragmatic and we felt no pressure to implement specific options.  After we purchased the property, Martin and his team cleaned and oiled the cedar shingle roof and cedar outside walls.  Not only did this help protect the house it also transformed how the house looked on the outside.  Their last visit was to install new doors and windows, again this went very well.  Overall we have always been impressed by the professionalism and skill of Martin and his team.

I very recently used Colt Houses to replace some weather beaten shingles on my cedar wood bungalow and I was very pleased with the all-round service that I received. The quote was provided quickly, a date agreed, and on that date the work started promptly and efficiently.

Nik, Alex and Martin were very friendly, approachable and helpful, and carried out the work with a minimum of disruption, tidying up the site afterwards and taking all the old shingles away. The new shingles look immaculate, and are a vast improvement.

The Colt building was first built in 1973 and we renovated it in 2022 with new windows and removing one entrance door (replacing it with a window). In subsequent years we extended the cedar tiles along a shed that had been built behind the Colt structure to standardise the appearance.

The building and original roof is still in great condition and has survived many storms over its 50+ years! In all of these projects Martin and his team have done a fantastic job: completing the work on schedule and on budget, cheerfully and coming back at short notice if any minor follow-ups were needed. The Colt team has been easily the most reliable and customer-focused contractor I have used, and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

We live in a Colt bungalow which has required little jobs carried out on it over the years.  Recently the two ends of the bungalow have been painted by Colts .  We were very satisfied with the results and the work was carried out to a very high standard.  The men carrying out the work were respectful and polite, creating no mess at all.
