We are delighted to have used Colt Houses to refurbish and fit our new kitchen and utility room. Much of the 1930s design was still intact, but the kitchen itself was very outdated having not been touched for about 40 years. The units needed scrapping, and there was an unnecessary porch which made the kitchen much darker then it needed to be – especially annoying as it kept out the morning sun! We discussed the potential with Martin. We were impressed with his knowledge and good sense, and with his passion for Colt buildings. We felt very involved in the project as he kept us closely informed throughout, efficiently arranging all the electrics, plumbing and plastering as well as the timber work and fitting new doors and windows. He was sympathetic to our wishes and made helpful suggestions at every stage.

Martin and his team worked solidly throughout the six week project; it was a real pleasure to have them around – completely trustworthy and highly skilled. It was a treat to watch their professionalism and pride in doing such a good job and solving any problems that arose as the original structure was unveiled. When the chimney breast was exposed, we wanted to keep it as a feature and they advised how best to do that. We are thrilled with the result – the kitchen has been transformed! The finish is of the highest quality: Martin was not happy until we were. Thank you so much to Martin and the team for everything.
