After living in our Colt bungalow since 1975, we decided, very belatedly, to replace the original Crittall windows with uPVC double-glazed units. We were initially recommended by two neighbours – one a builder – to a well-established local firm. This company claimed to have done installations in two Colt properties but proved reluctant to let us contact the owners! We discovered from Colts’ website that Martin Ross offered a window replacement service and he was able to give us a “ball-park” estimate from archived plans. He later visited us to discuss our detailed requirements and to firm up his quotation.

We are so pleased that we made the decision to instruct Colts to do the work. They put in 18 Sternfenster units (preinstalled in new subframes that Colts had made) and also fabricated a replacement octagonal window into which they installed argon-filled double-glazing. All 19 windows were installed in 5 ½ working days. Martin, Nick & Steve worked long hours and showed obvious skill and competence – as well as consideration, cheerfulness, friendliness and humour. They were obsessive about tidiness and cleaning and clearing up as they went along. On the odd occasion when we had to go out, we had no hesitation in leaving them on their own and asking them to lock up when they left.
We cannot speak too highly of the professionalism of Colts’ service and would be happy to speak to any other owners considering window replacement.
